Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear: Fake Toy Story 3 Ad

“I totally had one of these growing up. I don’t even know what happened to it. My mom probably put it in the attic. I don’t like going in there, so it’s as good as gone.” – Reads a quote from the YouTube page where this appeared.

You rememeber Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear, right? No? That’s right – he never existed! He may seem like a childhood favorite from the 1980’s but this is Pixar’s campaign to introduce a new 3D character from their latest movie, Toy Story 3. Brilliant!

Even better is the japanese version:

The Movie Avatar and Depression

Viewer comment on ‘Avatar’ forum: “When I woke up this morning after watching Avatar for the first time yesterday, the world seemed … gray. It was like my whole life, everything I’ve done and worked for, lost its meaning.”

Wow! That is pretty intense. The Avatar movie actually had the opposite effect on me. I’ve been depressed for the last 10 years since I left my career as a 3D animator. Having been immersed in a 3D career for many years I am familiar with the overpowering effects of 3D. Finally though there is a movie that harnesses the power of the 3D medium in a convincing way. Avatar as a movie is a believable immersive experience with an organic look-and-feel. So many 3D movies have presented us with the crisp hard-edges reminiscent of the early toy-based flicks.

Thank you Digital Domain for adding some life to the medium.
